This course will provide students with the knowledge, skills and qualifications necessary to pursue a career in the area of Special Needs Assisting and Early Years Care and Education. Students will receive training in the skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of the special needs assistant in different settings. Many childcare settings in Ireland are now seeking QQI level 5 qualifications for their employees in line with the requirements of the ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) scheme and new legislative requirements for the sector.

Primary and Secondary Schools as well as specialist schools employ Special Needs Assistants to work in a variety of educational settings. How the Course is Taught

The course is delivered through ongoing projects and tutorials. Students are encouraged to become self-motivated and disciplined through ongoing academic achievement and tutor feedback.
