As a business student you will gain a broad overview of how the commercial world operates. The course will cover the areas of bookkeeping, payroll , marketing, communications and information technology.

This course is designed to develop
  • effective and persuasive written and oral communication skills

  • numeracy and the ability to research, interpret and use business and financial data and information

  • self-reliance, initiative and the ability to manage time, projects and resources

entry Requirements
  • Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or equivalent.

Learners may also have the opportunity to study from a choice of modules such as: Maths, English and French.

Progression to Higher Education
  • Students who successfully complete the course may gain entry to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the FETAC Higher Education Links Scheme.

  • Successful completion of this Level 5 Award may lead to entry into the Advanced Certificate in Business Management FETAC Level 6 at GTI.

  • Many students progress to Business Studies in GMIT and other Institutes of Technology

This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May
