Healthcare Assistant
A Healthcare Assistant supports existing staff in a hospital or care setting in the practical care and general welfare of clients. They play a vital role in the care team. Career opportunities are excellent as many care settings require prospective employees to hold relevant certification such as this one. The course will allow you to develop the necessary skills and training to enable you to seek employment in the healthcare sector.
Equip the learner with the knowledge and practical skills required for a career as a ward attendant/multi-task attendant/special needs assistant in the health care/education sector.

Students must complete thirty days work placement. Work Experience is secured by the student in a workplace care setting eg nursing home, residential care setting, day care centre, childcare setting, school or hospital.
Learners may also have the opportunity to study from a choice of modules such as: Maths, English and French.

At registration students will be requested to complete documentation in order to successfully pass a garda vetting process before they commence work experience.

This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.
Full-time registered students of GTI may access a range of adult education courses at a reduced fee.
