A Diploma in Health Science will provide the learner with the skills to become a qualified practitioner in the complementary therapy sector.In the hands of qualified practitioners, holistic treatments will alleviate stress related conditions and promote health and well-being.This course will help the learner develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to pursue a career in this rewarding profession.

This course is designed to

  • Provide an internationally recognised qualification in Anatomy & Physiology, Body Massage, Reflexology and Diet and Nutrition.

  • Provide ITEC and CIBTAC qualifications that are considered to be of the highest quality available worldwide.

  • Train students in a realistic working environment combining practical learning with relevant science units to offer a comprehensive understanding of the health industry or progress to further education in the health science sector.

entry Requirements

  • Applicants should have successfully completed FETAC Certification in Health Science (Level 5) or equivalent.

  • Anatomy & Physiology (ITEC Level 3 & CIBTAC)

  • Holistic Massage (ITEC Level 3 & CIBTAC)

  • Reflexology (ITEC Level 3 & CIBTAC)

  • Diet & Nutrition (ITEC Level 3 & CIBTAC)

  • Professional Conduct & Business Awareness (CIBTAC)

  • Work Experience (ITEC & CIBTAC)

OPTIONAL MODULES

Learners may also have the opportunity to study from a choice of modules such as: Maths, English and French.

Progression to Higher Education
  • Students who successfully complete the course may gain entry to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the FETAC Higher Education Links Scheme.

Duration

This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.
