This course is suitable for people with little or no knowledge of Yoga, as a gentle introduction to various yoga practices including working with the Breath, Physical Postures and Meditation
Each class will cover the following practices in a systemic and gentle progression over the term
Pranayama (Breathing)Breath awareness and control various breathing techniques helping to quieten the mind and body using the subtle power of the breath.
Hatha Yoga (Postures)Gentle postures using stretching, balance, stamina and coordination to help the student become more body aware
Yoga Nidra (Meditation)Each class will finish with a guided meditation
No food or drinks should be taken for 1 hour before the class.
Loose comfortable clothing should be worn.
Mats will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own.
There is a max of 12 people for this class Bring a blanket or light throw for mediation
About the Teacher
Jimmy has been teaching yoga in Co Galway and Co Mayo both publicly and privately since 2002 . He is fully insured with the BWY(British Wheel of Yoga) He is a first aider and has Garda Clearance.
As well as public classes he also involved with teaching yoga in schools and has taught yoga with Rehab, Quest, HP, Fidelity Investment, The Galway Hurling Team (Minors) Men groups Cancer Care West and Parkinson's Sufferers to name but a few.
