Course Overview:

For this intermediate class, life drawing experience is required. This is suited to students who have completed life drawing classes in GTI previously or who have previous life drawing experience.

Course Outline:

Working from the nude figure, students will be introduced to relevant elements of drawing (including line, shape, form, tone, proportion, basic anatomy, composition etc) using a variety of media (pencil, charcoal, ink, oil pastel, contee sticks etc). Some of the approaches used emphasize accurate observational drawing, while others involve a more intuitive or playful approach. As the course progresses, students will be encouraged to explore different materials and ways of working, and to select and develop those that are of individual interest.

Materials: Paper is supplied. First class: students should bring a range of pencils (2B, 4B, 6B), erazer and pencil sharpener. Further materials will be discussed in class.
