Course Overview

This course is designed to give the learner the basic drawing & editing skills required for Computer Aided Design. This will allow the learner to start a drawing from scratch or edit an existing drawing. There will be an opportunity to print the drawing exercises completed during the course on a title-sheet thus creating a mini portfolio.

  • Introduction to using AutoCAD. Demonstration of Drawing, Editing & Zoom Commands.
  • Additional demonstration of Drawing & Editing Commands. Drawing Exercises.
  • Layers, Text Style, Text Command & Logo Insertion Explained. Title Sheet Exercise.
  • Hatching Command Explained & Exercise. Drawing Exercises.
  • Block, Explode, Insert & Edit Block in Place Commands & Exercise. Drawing Exercise
  • Array Command & Exercise. Polyline Command & Exercise Various Drawing Exercises.
  • Isometric Drawing demonstration & Isometric Drawing Exercises.
  • Dimension & Multileader Style Setup. Using Dimensions & Drawing Exercise.

Aidan Flood - I have 7 years of tutoring experience at GRETB and over 25 years experience in using AutoCAD. I am a Senior Architectural Technologist by profession and have been working in the industry for the past 17 years. I am passionate about training & enjoy helping people develop their drawing & editing skills.
