Course Details:

This new course replaces the Train the Trainer award E30179 and leads to a Training and Development Special Purpose Award (6S3372). To complete this award, participants must complete the following components:

Training Needs Identification and Design 6N3325

Training Delivery and Evaluation 6N3326

Qualification: Certificate in Training and Development Special Purpose Award 6S3372.

This course offers a total of 30 credits at QQI Level 6

Training Delivery and Evaluation 6N3326

o   Theory of Training and Adult Learning

o   Elements which impact on an effective training session

o   Appraise a range of evaluation models, approaches tools and techniques used in training

o   Deliver training content and materials using a range of training aids

o   Provide training feedback to participants

o   Devise a training and evaluation process

Training Needs Identification and Design 6N3325

o   Internal and external environmental factors influencing training and development

o   Concepts of learning, training development and education

o   Purpose of training and development

o   How to conduct a Training Needs Analysis

o   Instructional System Design (ISD) models

o   Identify barriers to training

o   Devise a training plan based on prioritised training needs to include cost benefit analysis

o   Design a training intervention

o   Skills to develop appropriate training content and materials using a range of learning aids

o   Evaluate a range of performance management approaches in context of T&D needs

Tutor Biography 

Training and Development Specialist with over 20 years teaching experience in Adult and Community Education. As a Business Trainer Joan delivers training to a broad range of organisations including Public, Private and Voluntary Sector. Joan holds a Higher Diploma in HRM from the University of Limerick and a BA Degree in Management. She is a high-energy training professional with a wealth of multi-business experience. Learners have described her approach as both professional and engaging, coupled with the desire to encourage them to participate with practical and personal contributions. 

Note Participants have the option of continuing their professional qualification to gain an Advanced Certificate in Training and Development (6S3327). To complete this award participant must complete a second module:

FET Credit 

Every FET certificate and component specification includes an FET credit value. FET credit is quantified in multiples of 5 FET credits (up to 50 hours of learner effort). Learner effort is based on the time taken by typical learners at the level of the award to achieve the learning outcomes for the award. It includes all learning time involved including: guided learning hours, self-directed learning and assessment.
