Course overview:

This course is suitable for first year apprentices/beginners.

The aim is to provide the individual with the knowledge and skills to cut women’s hair into a variety of looks.

The knowledge acquired by the learner will enable them to understand the main factors that need to be considered when cutting hair. The effect of cutting hair at different angles has on the haircut, the importance of applying tension to the hair when cutting and the safety considerations that must be taken into account.

Course Content: The learning outcomes to this course are:

  • Essential Health and Safety
  • Client Consultation/Scalp Analysis
  • Correct use of equipment
  • Basic One Length cut
  • Basic Uniform Layered cut
  • Basic Graduated cuts
  • Face Shaping (Fringe and Layers)
  • Cross Checking hair cut
  • Cutting Techniques

Entry Requirement:

No formal Education or qualification required.Suitable for first year apprentices/beginners.

In addition, for individuals that wishes to develop skills in Hairdressing.

Tutor Biography:

Marie Kearney is a highly trained Hairdressing Tutor with 10 years’ experience teaching full time in a Hairdressing College delivering several Hairdressing qualifications.

Marie is enthusiastic and committed to supporting learners through training and development.

Marie’s love for teaching comes from able to motivate and encourage learners to reach their full potential in Hairdressing.
