Course Overview

Digital Photography taught in practical classes and students will learn using their own cameras.This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to learn improve their photography and better use the features on their digital camera.

Course Content

Digital Photography for Beginners (Practical Classes)

• Digital Camera Controls & Lighting and Composition
• Portrait, Landscape, Still Life Photography.
• Documentary/Photo-Journalistic Style photography
• Night Photography & Flash Photography
• 1-2 location Field Trips may be scheduled during the course.
• Reference to established photographers work during lectures
• Basic practice for Digital Editing of Photographs
• Brief overview of the history of photography

Tutor Biography

Dave Ruffles is a Professional Photojournalist of over thirty years experience.

He originally qualified as a Medical Photographer(NHS) and lately a Master of Art Degree in Photography from Birmingham City University (UK).

His work has been published in The Observer Magazine, Irish Farmers Journal
