Online business has witnessed rapid development over the last number of years. Whether it is an e-commerce, social networking or non - profit making website; individuals and businesses alike are propelling the potential of the Internet as a marketing and communications tool. This course will encourage the development of key personal, social and technical skills needed to work in this ever changing environment whilst also providing participants with SEO [search engine optimisation] tactics and strategies.

This course is designed to:
  • enable students develop skills and qualities to work with online media

  • effective and persuasive written and oral communication skills

  • numeracy and the ability to research, interpret and use business and financial data and information

  • self-reliance, initiative and the ability to manage time, projects and resources

  • search engine optimisation - tactics and strategy

Entry Requirements:
  • Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or equivalent
  • Interview

  • Students who successfully complete the couse may gain entry to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the Highter Education Links Scheme.

Adult Education:

Full-time registered students of GTI may access a range of adult education courses at at reduced fee.


This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.
