Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Galway Technical Institute (GTI) and Galway Roscommon ETB (GRETB) launch Tertiary Degree Programme in Software and Technology

ATU, in partnership with GTI and GRETB recently launched a new Tertiary Education degree at Galway Technical Institute, the BSc (Hons) in Software and Technology. The BSc (Hons) in Software and Technology is a tertiary education programme whereby the learner spends one-year in the ETB setting and completes years two, three and four at ATU.

• The programme bridges the gap between traditional computer science and engineering disciplines to address the growing need for professionals who understand both software development principles and control systems integration.
• The programme has a strong emphasis on professional development and project management capabilities. This partnership provides a flexible and accessible pathway to a university degree for students in the region. The programme aims to meet current industry demand for software and technology graduates.

Following completion of year one of the programme, learners then progress to year two of the honours degree programme at ATU’s Galway City Dublin Road campus. This innovative partnership between ATU, GRETB and GTI is the latest addition to the tertiary education programme offering at ATU. The programmes’ focus on technology and software development signifies a new direction for tertiary education programme development at the university. This programme prepares learners for both employment and entrepreneurial ventures in the growing field of integrated software-hardware systems.
